Stick to itness... the art of following through!
Ok so the calendar flipped to January 3rd this morning, and my day kicked off with my Baby Momma Bootie Camp! Amazing group of new moms who I have been working with for just over 7 months now; the babies are no longer in carriers, they are moving and shaking all around the wee studio... it's really quite entertaining, and it has been amazing watching them take flight... but I've already gone off topic!
Ugh!
What I was getting at was this was my first real workout of the 'Epic 2017' I set intentions about, and was so fired up about at midnight on New Years Eve! I'm not going to say I didn't move; my new snow shoes have been getting a real good break in, and we have been hard at renovations - but I haven't worked out; and my intention was at least half an hour a day of something structured!
Got me to thinking about what I know about "stick to itness" (a phrase I came up with this morning while I was trying to figure out how I had gone from super excited about setting my intentions; to not working out at all, in just a couple days!
I'm not actually getting hung up on a couple of missed workouts; lets face it as a trainer running workout classes from home - I am going to workout! But.... I know this is how it starts and I really wanted to put some thought into what I know, that I could share, that might help you stick to it! I came up with the following 10 things when I put my pen to the paper and wrote without stopping...
Stick to itness
10 things I know
1. If you don't create goals, you will never achieve them.
2. If you aren't at least a little afraid of your goals - you aren't aiming high enough.
3. If you don't make yourself a priority; why would anyone else?
4. Success is about many failures; if you choose to always pick up and keep moving forward.
5. Nothing works; unless you do.
6. If you don't love your body as it is right now; it's unlikely you will love it when you lose 10 lbs.
7. You absolutely become what you think, and believe you are.
8. Everything you do matters.
9. Our greatest transformations are found in changing the little things we do everyday.
10. Gratitude changes everything... you are, and you have; enough!
There you have it; hopefully somewhere in those thoughts is something that resonates with you, inspires you to jump back on the 'Epic 2017' train... it hasn't left the station yet, no matter where you are you have time ;)
I have two more workout classes today, which technically speaking puts me right on track for my intentions! I hope that no matter where you are on this crazy journey you find movement today, that you make good nutritional choices; and at least once you give yourself a big old high five for being awesome!
Be Well! Jo
