New Energy
Don't you just love when you get swept up in a new energy?
When new perspectives open you to different ways to understand things?
I am definitely a new energy junkie; I think this is why I am always looking for courses and certifications to expand my mind! As much as I love to be influenced, I am equally fulfilled as the influencer!
Right now I am smack dab in the middle of two amazing projects - on a teaching level I am sharing my nutritional philosophies through the March Melt at Namast'ay At Home; on a learning level I am submerged in the B-School program with Marie Forleo ... this is me in perfect balance!
Something that ran rampant throughout the facebook page in B-School this week was a sense of 'overwhelm', anxiety about being behind, and of course the ever present 'perfection' trap ... as I made my way through the first 3 modules, I set all that aside, hung out in my lane, and unpacked 1 lesson at a time ... amazing; and can I just say 'mind blown' on the ah-ha moments, and creative sparks!
The scramble for everyone to find a 'group', to find accountability partners, and arrange meet ups with local fellow students was a little 'out there' to me? So few people were willing to stand in their own decisions to be there, that external validation thing was running high! Safety in numbers I guess?
When I started out in this business 10 years ago I had a partner; what I learned from that experience is that I am a 'lone wolf'. I am far more fluid on my own and that is perfectly ok! What I have expanded by joining B-School is my acceptance that I need help .. more of a technical support nature, than an accountability partner... my accountability game is high!
One of the many 'built ins' that I hope clients get from my programs, is that sense of responsibility that helps them embrace the journey as their own!
It doesn't matter if it's nutrition, fitness, or something else entirely; when you own the decision you've made, when you take responsibility for the execution, as well as the results - you are in the damn zone!
Trust the process.
In my own experience there is nothing more empowering than a sense of being in charge, in total control! There are so few things in our lives that we can be singularly in charge of, but what we eat, how we move and what we create are ours ... we have complete control; and yet we turn the reins over to the food industry, or we choose not to move our bodies, or we let our creative inspirations float away!
Stop doing that!
The hardest part is 'deciding'; deciding that we deserve better, that we are capable of more! Once you decide; once you commit and create a plan - whether you are deciding to eat more vegetables, or work out twice a week, or setting aside two hours a week to be creative; once you decide everything becomes easier!
The agonizing and self doubt fade; you have made a decision, option B is no longer on the table, you are creating a plan for option A and everything in the universe lines up to support you! The decision is made, the mental chatter of whether you will fail or succeed is replaced with plan building and action taking, no more 'can I, should I?' ... it's all systems go, and you are moving forward!
That new energy feeling is accelerated, with each and every thing you do on purpose and in line with the decision, clarifying that you are on the right path ... it's so damned amazing!
Riding new energy is such a rush, but we need to harness it; we need to understand that 'this too shall pass' if we just sit in the pocket! While you are riding it, you need to feel it and adjust your sails if necessary; when things slow down we are either readjusting or losing speed!
If we let the slow down consume us, we crash and burn; if we are aware enough that the slow down is happening, we can make the necessary changes to build up speed again! We absolutely need to stay aware, we need to continue to be curious, mindful and open to the highs and lows that are all part of the process when we trust!
As we wrap up the learning phase of the March Melt I hope that everyone will continue to tweak, continue to source better options, move their bodies and be inspired to take control, be responsible and build an amazing relationship with themselves!
Our journey through life will be filled with many people and an abundance of experiences that will help to shape us, that we will learn from, be influenced by; but the one constant from birth to death is our relationship with our own Self!
Stay curious about who you are, and how best to care for your 'You' ... your wellness and fulfillment is the New Energy that you need to keep in motion! Adjust accordingly!
